Marking Off The To-Do List

Danny and I did so much wedding planning last week it seems.  We decided on our photographer, selected and ordered the tuxedos for all the men, picked out our invitations/programs, finalized the bridesmaid dress selection, and notified our florist that we are going to be working with them.  Tomorrow we are going to go to another baker and try some more cake!  I can't believe we have so much done.

We went with the bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal.

Then we decided on a tuxedo from Men's Warehouse.

Here are the invitations and programs.

The photographer we went with is the one that has worked with Danny's family a few times.  I was very impressed with how in depth the meeting went and how enthusiastic he was about taking pictures for our big day.  We now have to decide on where we want the photos to be taken and what kind of pictures we would like to see.  I have found a few ideas that I really like.  To see more you can go to my pinterest of course!  http://pinterest.com/karabeth55/wedding-engagement-photo-ideas/

Too cute!

I LOVE this ring picture!

I am really excited about all the ideas that are out there for this baseball wedding.  We do have to find a place around Cleveland that is indoors just in case of the rain so we can take some pictures.  Thankfully at the ballpark we have a back up place there in case of rain so that's taken care of.  Besides figuring that out I am pretty sure the wedding planning is going to slow down for a while.  We will meet with our coordinator from the ballpark next month to get a timeline for the day and tour the area with our photographer so he can get an idea of what the venue is like.  Maybe after this weekend we will even have our baker picked!  As always I'll keep everyone updated!

Memories That Last A Lifetime

Next weekend Danny and I will hopefully get some major wedding planning done.  Danny and I  will be meeting with another baker, then I think we have one more to meet with before we make our decision on which one to go with.  Picking the baker is such a huge decision in Danny's eyes it must be taken seriously...it really is one of the main things he cares about in this whole planning process.  Plus, Emily will be trying on her bridesmaid dress and we will probably make the final decision on if that is the dress or not.  I am pretty sure it is though.  After looking at the dress, Emily and I may force Danny to at least browse at some tux options just so we can get an idea of what is out there.

Also, I am excited and relieved to say we are finally meeting with a photographer.  I have been nervous about not booking one in time for the big day.  It is so stressful to hear vendors tell you that we have to book almost a year in advanced to assure our day is reserved.  I just find that crazy!  Hopefully things will go well next Friday and we will have a photographer booked!  I feel like I have looked at thousands of photographers around the area and looked through countless numbers of their portfolios.  It is exhausting.  The one we are meeting with has a nice portfolio and I think things will work out well if we decide to go with them.

I have been trying to consider the types of photos I would like to have and I have been adding them to my Pinterest boards.  I know I just posted about that website but I cannot get enough of it.  I love it!  You can check some of them out at this link:  http://pinterest.com/karabeth55/photo-ideas/

I will constantly be adding more and more pictures to the board as well as the others.  Although, I think I have looked at almost every wedding picture the internet has just to find some inspiration for some of our own photos, I will still search for more.  While I have been looking at what seems like billions of photos I have stumbled upon some truly strange, awkward, and crazy photos that I just feel I should share.  They are definitely photos I do not want from my big day but I figured I would give you all a nice laugh.

This reminds me of those 90s photo booth pictures.
So weird...oh airbrushed hearts and cupid.
I don't even understand this photo.
Truly awesome...
Weird. And not happening.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people had a photo like this accidentally show up in their wedding albums.
Creepy.
I don't get the stuffed animal thing at all.
What amuses me is that there is a boy Hello Kitty.
All the money in the world couldn't get Danny to do this...I love this picture just because it's so funny.
Apparently this is a trend in Japan.
Time for some of my faves!!! I love these because they are so weird!

The expression on the guys face is awesome.
Odd.
I don't know why you would want pictures with horses on your wedding day but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Hilarious.
I don't know why the next two have bulldozers transporting the wedding party members but I find it amusing.

I truly believe in my heart that if Danny could do this he would.

Is it bad that I can see Danny making that face in one of the pictures just to make me mad?
And is it even worse that I can see myself doing this to make my mother mad?

Oh I can't wait to take and see all my wedding photos.  I have a feeling there will be some funny ones.  Maybe not as funny as all of those but I am sure there will be some that will make people laugh or cringe whichever one.

I'm OBSESSED!

I am currently obsessed with pinterest.com.  For those of you who aren't familiar with Pinterest, it's a website where you can create boards that have all kinds of pictures on them.  If you find a picture of something you like online you can pin the picture to your board and it creates kind of a collage of images for you.  I have created at least three wedding boards already.  If you are interested in looking at them here are the links:
It's really cool because it lets you categorize your images into multiple boards.  I have used it for wedding planning, recipe finding, craft ideas, and even a little clothing shopping ideas.  I think it would very beneficial to anyone who is planning their wedding just because it helps you put all of your photos into one collage so you get a better idea of how things will look.  Just thought I would share!!  No other updates, only 290 more days to go!

Just a Little Update

It's been a while since my last post so it's time for an update.  It doesn't seem like it but it actually has been a busy holiday season.  I looked at a few florists and found one I loved.  I still have to get that all set up.  But I am very confident in my decision.  They are a very good florist that actually understands what it is I want for the big day.  Plus they are excited about doing something that isn't like your typical princess wedding.  Updates on flowers will be posted as they come along.  I do know that I can get my anemone flowers so I am very happy about that.

Now on to one thing that has been running through my mind, invitations.  I would love everyone's input on this topic.  Is it better to get an invitation kit and then print them off on your own personal computer?  Or is it better to get the kit and have another person at like a copy place print them out for you?  Or should I order them online and let them print, construct, and then mail them to you?  Or would it be best to have a stationary store that is local make the invitations?  If you have done any of these let me know about your experience.  I am very interested in finding out the best approach on getting my invitations.

I have found a kit that Danny and I both like and we are kind of interested in doing it ourselves.  It is very cost effective but I don't know how nice everything will turn out.  The kit has just a simple black and white invitation that has a black floral border and white background.  BUT I have found a few other invitations online that have a baseball theme to them.  I don't know how far this whole baseball thing should go.  Like I said, I would love everyone's input on this topic.

Also, it's less than 300 days (298 to be exact) until the wedding day and I almost feel like there isn't enough time to plan all this out.  Danny being in Columbus makes it a little bit more difficult to plan out things together but he is trying to be as helpful as possible.  I think we have narrowed down a few photographers to meet with thanks to him.  Next time he is home, when it isn't crazy busy with holiday plans, we are going to try and get a ton of wedding planning done.  We are going to meet with one or two more bakers, a few photographers, and with our coordinator at the ballpark so we can work out a timeline for the day and get a few other details worked out.  Wedding planning is crazy, it feels like time is going by so fast.

All the Pretty Flowers

I have decided to look at florists for our next big planning step.  I have one appointment already set up for this week and I have e-mailed about three other florists in the Cleveland area. Danny's mother has been very helpful with finding a few recommended florists so it's not as overwhelming.  There are TONS of florists here and narrowing the list is so helpful.

I cannot wait to meet with the florists because I am hoping they will help me figure out my "wedding vision."  I am getting almost confused about what I want to do as far as wedding decor goes.  I know a few things.  Black and white will be the colors. BUT now I don't know if I want to incorporate another color for accent.  I was thinking maybe silver would be pretty, or even red or blue or who knows! I know I want simplicity.  I want things to look classic and elegant.  And I know I want to try and incorporate baseball into the decor but I don't want to overdo it.  Hopefully, after visiting numerous amount of florists I can get a better idea about what I want everything to look like.

I have one flower that I keep seeing over and over again when I search black and white wedding decor.  The anemone flower is a gorgeous flower that comes in white, blue, pink, red, and purple.  Then in the middle of the flower it has a black center.  It is simple, elegant, and a little modern but can look very classic when paired with certain flowers.  I cannot get these flowers out of my head when I think about the wedding.  I just love them.  I am hoping that they are readily available around September of next year.

Hands down this is my favorite of all the anemone bouquets I have seen.

If anemones are unavailable I have looked into monochromatic white bouquets, and white with green incorporated in the arrangement.  I have found quite a few white bouquets that I think are gorgeous.

Not a bouquet BUT a very pretty centerpiece with a variety of white flowers.

I love the wrap and brooch on this arrangement.  I would love a wrapped bouquet with sometime of sentimental piece of family jewelry on it for accent.

Not all white but I like the dark accent blooms placed in for a pop.

Flowers are so beautiful and I have no idea how I am going to decide on what flowers I want in my wedding. I have to admit though, I do find it slightly relaxing just looking at pictures of flowers for a few minutes here and there.  Let me know how your florist experiences went.  How did you choose what flowers to use out of the hundreds out there?  I love reading everyone's comments!!
